We are living in a such society of robbers that we had to create anti-theft systems. I understand that. I am against robbery myself. But maybe we should have more effective anti-theft systems. We all know that kind of systems. We go to the store, peace of mind and, at the cashier, a beep beep beeep sounds. The reaction is not "oh God, I got caught" but "what the hell is sounding ?" This kind of system sounds for everything, even for what you bought in another store. I had the case in Torquay several years ago. I came in a store with my children, at the entrance, beep beep beep. I just bought something in another store. Hey, it must ring at the exit, not at the entrance. Soon, they will have no customers any more if the alarm system prevents them from coming in.
Today, rebelote. I did some shopping this morning. At the cashier, beep beep beeep. Cart roll-back. What is sounding ? Come on, let’s try again. Beep beep beep. I lifted my bags, nothing stayed below. What the hell is sounding ? All what I just bought was on the crate treadmill. The cashier told me to pass only the shopping cart. Beep beep beeep. Phew, it’s not me but the caddie. By conscience, I looked in my pockets. Nothing special. I paid and went away. After, thinking of all this, all that I could have sounding is a sewing thread pouch I bought elsewhere last week. I changed it from bag to bag yesterday. Or a new t-shirt.
Oooh marvellous anti-theft system !
